Woman Organizing Rally and Fundraiser To Save Safe Harbour

She doesn’t have any personal connection to it but one Saint John woman is still doing what she can to keep the Safe Harbour youth shelter open.

News broke on Friday that the teen shelter will close later this month due to a lack of funding.

Cat Bourque tells us she can’t sit back and watch it close without doing something.

She says it’s heartbreaking and she says she can relate as she has being in situations where she thought she might be homeless because she couldn’t pay her rent.

Bourque is organizing a rally to Save Safe Harbour on Wednesday night at 6pm in King Square.

She also has a crowdfunding page set up where donations are being accepted.
