A former Conservative Finance Minister thinks the financial fortunes of New Brunswick would change if politicians would stop with spending promises during each election campaign.
Quispamsis MLA Blaine Higgs says it won’t change if we keep burying ourselves every four years.
He says if the public would recognize that if you are just promising me something that you will likely charge me to pay for it and make that connection then
we could bring ourselves out of this very easily.
When the Gallant Liberals release their next budget on February 2nd, Higgs fully expects to see an HST hike and possibly the introduction of tolls on the major highways.
