Quispamsis Mayor Murray Driscoll will be running for re-election in the upcoming municipal election, saying there’s still a lot to be done and he’s prepared to give it his best.
Driscoll tells us there’s not enough affordable housing or enough diversified housing, and and he wants to see more housing developed so that seniors who want to move out of their bigger homes into something smaller, with good quality at an affordable price can do so.
As well looking ahead, for his next term, he says curbside recycling is included in the budget and he’d like to see that come out of the budget “and go on the shoulders of industry who make the recyclable goods.”
As for word that Rothesay mayor Bill Bishop won’t be reoffering, Driscoll wishing him the best in his retirement saying he served as the longest politician in New Brunswick and he has done great things for his community.
Driscoll has just under two terms under his belt. Before he become mayor, he served two terms as deputy mayor for the town of Quispamsis. He was first elected in 2001.
