Wednesday Morning Sports For January 20th

In the NHL, a late goal by Matt Hunwick giving the Toronto Maple Leafs a 3-2 win over Philadelphia to snap their five game losing streak……Boston beat Montreal 4-1 at the Bell Centre……The Canadiens have only won 4 of their last 21 games……Chicago won its 12th in a row, 4-1 over Nashville……The Rangers got by Vancouver 3-2 in overtime…..League leading Washington doubled up on Columbus 6-3….Los Angeles edged Dallas 3-2….Calgary lost to New Jersey 4-2 and Tampa Bay took Edmonton 6-4.

John Scott, who was voted an all-star by the fans thanks to a Twitter campaign, will captain the Pacific Division team at the All-Star Game even though he got traded out of the conference from Arizona to Montreal and then was demoted to the American Hockey League. Scott says the whole thing is crazy.

At the Australian Open, Eugenie Bouchard has been eliminated in the second round. In men’s play, Rafael Nadal was also eliminated.

In the NBA, it was Milwaukee 91 Miami 79……New Orleans 114 Minnesota 99……Oklahoma City 110 Denver 104 and Indiana 97 Phoenix 94.
