Former Natural Resources Minister Argues Shale Gas Played Role In Potash Decision

Did the moratorium on shale gas play any part in the decision by Potash Corp of Saskatchewan to suspend its mining operations in New Brunswick?

The company says not but former Natural Resources Minister Bruce Northrup, the M-L-A for Sussex, begs to differ.

Northrup says Corridor Resources couldn’t supply natural gas to the mine round the clock because it couldn’t refrack.

He acknowledges the moratorium was not the main reason for the decision.
