Frozen Natural Gas Pipe Valve Forces Mall Evacution

For a little over an hour, there were no deals to be had at Target or anywhere else in the mall.

Shoppers and employees have the all clear to return to McAllister Place after an evacuation just before 2pm.

The Saint John Fire department got the call just before 2pm about a natural gas leak and it turned out to be a frozen natural gas pipe valve on the roof of Target.
Charlene was forced out and tells CHSJ News someone said it looked like the doors were vomiting people because so many people were coming out all at once.

Dalton calls it offputting to be told to leave the mall and it was a first in the 3 years he has worked there.

CHSJ News asked a security guard outside Sobey’s what happens if you are at the cash with a full grocery order and he says you have to leave it.

No one was hurt in the incident.
