Kevin Rice of the City’s Transportation and Environment Services says Saint John has received 250 to 300 centimetres of snow in three weeks.
He says the average snow removal is 2711 truckloads of snow for the entire winter and during the two week snow removal effort crews have removed more than 16,500 loads.
The City is encouraging the public to show respect and kindness to the folks in every area of the snow clearing and removal operations.
Some frustrated residents have been calling the city’s administration staff to yell and swear at them about the road conditions.
The city reminds everyone that city staff are working under difficult conditions.
Plows and their operators were taken off the road for a total of 10 hours on Sunday because of poor conditions adding the crews have had one day off in three weeks so they are concerned for their safety.
