Wednesday Sports For July 15, 2015

In New Brunswick Senior Baseball the Saint John Alpines were defeated by the visiting Moncton FisherCats 7-1 at Memorial Field last night. The Alpines will get a chance to make a comeback tonight when they head to Moncton for a return match. On Saturday the Alpines will be in Charlottetown for a doubleheader.

In the Majors, outfielder Mike Trout of the LA Angels was named Most Valuable Player of this year’s All-Star Game where the American League beat the National League 6-3. Trout is the first player in the history of Major League Baseball to win back to back All-Star Game MVP awards.

On day four of the Pan Am Games Canadian athletes claiming another 23 medals. Canada is still in top spot on the medal board with a total of 64 medals including 25 gold, 22 silver and 17 bronze. The United States is in second place with 60 medals.
