Tuesday Morning Sports For September 16th

Adrian Peterson, already facing felony charges in Texas for child abuse and now a Houston TV station is reporting he was accused in a separate incident involving another son who was 4 years old. The lawyer for the Minnesota Vikings running back says the allegations are more than a year old and no action was taken by the authorities. The TV report cites text messages that reportedly include a photo of the son with an apparent head wound covered by bandages.

In the NFL, Nick Foles threw a tying touchdown pass with 3:25 to go and then set up the winning 36 yard field goal as time expired to give the Philadelphia Eagles a 30-27 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

In the Majors, the Jays lost to Baltimore 5-2 and the Yankees were shut out by Tampa Bay 1-0…The Blue Jays are now 5 games out of the wildcard and the Yankees are 6 out……Both Detroit and Kansas City won so the Tigers maintain a lead of a game and a half over the Royals in the A-L Central Division. The Los Angeles Angels clinched a playoff berth with an 8-1 win over Seattle.

In the National League, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielders Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig got into a verbal altercation in the dugout during an 11-3 win over the Colorado Rockies. The Giants fell 4 games back of the Dodgers in the N-L West after losing to Arizona 6-2.

In Junior Varsity girls soccer, St. Stephen High opens up its season with a 6-1 win over Fundy High.
