The Radisson hotel chain had suspended its relationship with the Vikings. Special Olympics Minnesota and Castrol Motor Oil have severed their ties with Peterson and Nike stores in Minneapolis-St. Paul have stopped selling merchandise with his name on it.
In the Majors, Baltimore clinched the American League East title for the first time in 17 years after an 8-2 pasting of the Blue Jays who remain five games out of the wildcard……The Yankees are also five out despite a 6-1 loss to Tampa Bay……Both Detroit and Kansas City lost so the Tigers remain one and a half games ahead of the Royals in the Central Division. Seattle is just one game out of the wildcard after a 13-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels while Oakland lost to Texas 6-3.
In the National League, Washington clinched the East title after shutting out Atlanta 3-0……In the N-L Central, St. Louis lost to Milwaukee 3-2 in 12 innings while Pittsburgh shut out the Red Sox 4-0 so the Pirates trail the Cardinals by 2 and a half games……In the West, the Giants are now 3 back of the Dodgers after edging Arizona 2-1 while Los Angeles went down to Colorado 10-4.
