Fire Truck Flips On Way To House Fire

It’s a tough day when the rescuers need rescuing.

RCMP tell us a fire truck flipped on it’s roof this morning at the entrance to Seeley’s Cove Road, while on it’s way to put out a house fire in Seeley’s Cove.

Police say the cause of the crash was the fire truck hitting a patch of black ice, getting caught on pavement, and being too top heavy to stop before flipping over.

The driver was the lone occupant and had minor injuries due to the crash.

He was treated at the Saint John Regional Hospital and released.

A new fire truck costs an estimated 300 thousand dollars.
