Saint John’s Hospice Saves Government Big $

Bobby’s House on the West side is saving the provincial government 2.4 million dollars a year.

The 10-bed hospice provides end of life care for people that would otherwise in acute care beds in hospitals.

Sandy Johnson is the CEO for Hospice Greater Saint John.

She says they are really proud of their contract with the Department of Health which she says is 45 per cent of their budget needs adding their budget is 1.6 million dollars a year.

She says fundraising it’s very important adding the whole community supports Bobby’s Hospice with annual fundraisers, memorial donations and through the Hopsice Shoppe at 77 Catherwood on the West side.
