Today Marks The End Of An Era For Princess Of Acadia

After 44 years of service the Princess of Acadia’s last sailing will take place today from Digby.

Don Cormier is the Vice President of Operations and Safety Management for Bay Ferries, he says today is bittersweet.

Cormier says there will be a farewell cruise on Wednesday evening for past employees and people who have contributed to the service for one last goodbye.

He says more runs will be added, primarily during lobster season in December, to accommodate truckers.

The Princess of Acadia was built at the former Saint John Shipbuilding yard on Bayside Drive.
