Province Wins Saint John Court Case

The provincial government will not have to pay 713 thousand dollars compensation for problems encountered in excavating the site of the Law Courts building at Peel Plaza. That decision made by the New Brunswick Court of Appeal.

In asking for damages, Bird Construction and Brad Gould Trucking and Excavation claimed they encountered stronger rock while excavating and therefore it cost them more money to do the job.

The province claimed the stronger rock was not the result of any change in soil conditions.
