Seeing Saint John Snow Removal Efforts Up Close

Saint Johners might be a little more sympathetic about the tough job facing the crews clearing snow if they were in their shoes.

Country 94’s Trish Hamilton rode along with a plow driver in Lorneville earlier this week.

Hamilton tells CHSJ News it surprised about the lack of room on some streets for such a big vehicle.

She says they go down some tight spaces with these plows having to negotiate cars being left on the road.
She adds she travelled with Jesse on a clear night so she can’t imagine being out there when its snowing and blowing.

She adds they are also watching for obstacles like guardrails and mailboxes.

Hamilton says plow operators don’t take any joy in plowing people’s driveways in but the plows are meant to push the snow not to lift it.
