Fire At Funeral Home

The fire department says the fire early this morning at Brenan’s on Paradise Row started in the area of the crematorium and then spread to the reception area.

Platoon Chief Barry Oickle says fire crews were met by heavy smoke and while it didn’t take long to put the fire out, the ceiling in the reception area had to come down causing significant damage to that part of the building.

Brenan’s is still open and says there will be no interruption of any scheduled funerals or visitations. In addition, there was no damage caused to the public areas of the funeral home.
