In the majors:

The LA Dodgers are off to the World Series after defeating Milwaukee 5-1 in game 7 of the National League championship series.

In the NHL:

Winnipeg beat Arizona 5-3, Toronto fell to St. Louis 4-1, Ottawa edged Montreal 4-3 in overtime, Nashville blanked Edmonton 3-0, Vancouver got past Boston 2-1 in overtime, and New Jersey fell to Philadelphia 5-2.

In Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action:

The Saint John Sea Dogs fell to the visiting Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 5-0.

The two teams face off again at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Harbour Station.

In junior hockey action:

The St. Stephen Aces downed the Campbellton Tigers 2-1 in a shootout at home.

In the NBA:

Kyle Lowry scored 28 points for Toronto as the Raptors downed Washington 117-113.

In ACAA soccer:

The UNB Saint John men lost to Holland College 2-1 while the women fell 2-nil.

Both teams play their final regular season games on Sunday afternoon at the Dalhousie University Agricultural Campus in Truro, N.S.
