A local teenager getting a big Canadian honor today in St. Stephen.
17 year old Emily Dean, of St. Stephen, will be given the Canadian Flag by MP John Williamson for her contributions to the country.
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Canadian flag (February 15th), the federal government is thanking 50 Canadians and organizations who have contributed significantly to the well-being of our citizens.
Dean is a National Air Rifle champion, a member of Team New Brunswick in the 2015 Canada Winter Games, and a member of the St. Croix Sportsman Club.
She is also involved in Girl Guides of Canada and has received numerous awards, including Duke of Edinburgh (gold, silver, and bronze), and the Canada Cord.
