Barn Collapses From Heavy Snow With Horses Still Inside

Over three quarters of an arena roof is caved in after snow build-up caused a barn to collapse.

The St. Stephen Fire Department says they got the call to the Valley Run Horse Centre on the Valley Road last night around 6pm.

Officials say nine horses were inside the barn at the time it collapsed, and it took firefighters two hours to get the animals out safely.

Riding students confirm the owner was not feeling well, so lessons had been cancelled for the evening, and noone was inside the barn.

There were no reports of any injuries to person or animal.

A reminder from the St. Stephen Fire Department to keep your roof clear of snow building up incase of a collapse.
