In the NHL, the Canadiens begin their west coast road trip, losing 4-0 to San Jose……The Rangers beat Nashville 4-1. The Preds have now lost three straight and Chicago defeated Carolina 5-2 as Jonathon Toews scores two goals.

The Boston Bruins acquired former Sea Dog forward Zack Phillips from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Jared Knight. Phillips has been playing in the American Hockey League. Former Sea Dogs defenseman Simon Despres was traded by Pittsburgh to Anaheim.

In the NBA, the Raptors broke a 5 game losing streak with a 114-103 win over Philadelphia as DeMar DeRozen scored a season high 35 points.

The NBA suspending Houston Rockets guard James Harden for one game without pay for kicking Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James in the groin during Sunday’s game.

At the Brier, Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs is alone in first with a record of 5 and 0. New Brunswick is 1 and 3 after losing to Team Canada 6-5.
