A Fun Farewell For Gerry Lowe At City Hall

He didn’t love the attention but Gerry Lowe appreciates the sentiment from his former City hall colleagues.

The incoming MLA for Saint John Harbour presented with a few gifts at his last Saint John Common Council meeting.

Deputy Mayor Shirley McAlary hosted a farewell ceremony where Lowe was presented with a series of ties in different party colours.

“Gerry has never worn a tie until Friday, he wore one on Friday,” McAlary said.

Mayor Don Darling piped up, “It looked good too. Very handsome.”

McAlary says Gerry loves to wheel and deal and knows what he wants.

“He’s out there all the time. He’s loved every minute of being a councillor. I don’t think there is anyone who has loved being a councillor more than Gerry”.

Lowe seemed a bit uncomfortable with the fuss but did say he’s already experiencing council withdrawal.
