In the World Series:

The Boston Red Sox took game four with a 9-6 win over the LA Dodgers.

The Red Sox are now one win away from their ninth World Series title.

In the NHL:

Drake Caggiula and Leon Draisaitl each had a pair of goals as Edmonton downed Nashville 5-3.

Elsewhere, Calgary fell to Washington 4-3 in a shootout, Montreal blanked Boston 3-0, Toronto edged Winnipeg 3-2, Vancouver fell to Pittsburgh 5-0, and New Jersey got past Florida 3-2.

In the CFL:

The East Division has been decided after Ottawa defeated Hamilton 30-13.

Elsewhere, Saskatchewan clinched a home playoff game thanks to a 35-16 win over the BC Lions.

In the Atlantic Football League semifinals:

UNB Saint John fell to Dalhousie 51-9.

At the ACAA women’s soccer championship:

UNB Saint John fell to St. Thomas University 3-2 in the semifinals.

In university women’s volleyball:

UNB Saint John opened its season at home with a 3-0 loss to Mount Saint Vincent.
