Sunday Morning Sports For November 4th

In the NHL:

Kyle Brodziak scored his first two goals of the season as Edmonton edged Detroit 4-3.

Elsewhere, Ottawa fell to Buffalo 9-2, Montreal lost to Tampa Bay 4-1, Toronto blanked Pittsburgh 5-0, Calgary downed Chicago 5-3, Boston fell to Nashville 1-0, and New Jersey lost to the Islanders 3-0.

At the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge:

Russia took a 3-2 lead over Team Canada Red before a power outage postponed the game late in the third.

It is tentatively scheduled to resume at noon on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Sweden downed Finland 6-1.

In Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action:

William Poirier scored the lone goal for the Saint John Sea Dogs in their 8-1 loss to Baie-Comeau.

In junior hockey action:

The St. Stephen Aces fell to Summerside 2-1.

Everett Hicks scored the lone goal for St. Stephen.

In the CFL:

Calgary has clinched the West Division with a 26-9 victory over the BC Lions.

Elsewhere, Winnipeg fell to Edmonton 33-24 and Montreal edged Hamilton 30-28.
