In the Majors, the Blue Jays win their fourth in a row, 9-7 over Minnesota as Jose Bautista hits a grand slam homer……The Jays now trail the Yankees in the American League East by 4 and a half games. The Yankees lost to the Red Sox and knuckleballer Steven Wright, 2-1. David Ortiz hit another homer for Boston.
In the National League, the New York Mets almost squandered an 8 run lead in the 9th but held on for an 8-6 win over Miami to open up a two game lead in the East over Washington who lost to Arizona 11-4. The Mets have now won 6 in a row.
In New Brunswick Senior Baseball, The Saint John Alpines lost to the Moncton FisherCats 5-1….The Alpines are back home tonight against the Fredericton Royals. Gametime is 7:30 at Memorial Field.
