In the NHL, the Boston Bruins rebounded from their blow out loss the other night to Los Angeles with a 6-2 win over Winnipeg….Connor McDavid had 2 goals and three assists in Edmonton’s 5-2 win over Toronto…..It was Dallas over Chicago 4-2 as Patrick Eaves gets a hat trick…..Washington edged Minnesota 4-3 with Alex Ovechkin getting 3 goals…..The Kings lost to the Islanders 5-2…..Calgary almost squandered a 4-1 first period lead but got by San Jose in a shootout 6-5….Colorado got by Ottawa 4-3….Philadelphia beat Buffalo 5-1 and Columbus edged Anaheim in a shootout 4-3.

Maple Leafs’ center Nazem Kadri has been fined $5,000 for his throat slashing gesture in a game against Calgary after he was body checked.

In the National Basketball League, the Mill Rats rallied from being 10 points down at halftime for a 107-104 win over Charlottetown. A pair of free throws by Gabe Freeman clinched the win. He had 30 points while Anthony Stover grabbed 14 rebounds.
