Housing Alternatives Executive Director Kit Hickey says discussions with the Department of Social Development are underway involving the future of the Safe Harbour Transition House on Broad Street.
Hickey says she is “cautiously optimisitic” that the housing facility will be opening in the near future, but a date has not been set.
She says she was pleased to hear city councillors John MacKenzie, Donna Reardon and Bill Farren speak in support of the housing facility, but was disapointed no action was taken by Common Council.
