Disappointed…….That’s the reaction of former Senator Erminie Cohen to the lack of concrete action to reopen Safe Harbour for young people who are estranged from their families and without homes to go to.
Cohen says it might turn out to be penny wise and pound foolish not to spend the money now to help them instead of later when their adults trapped in a cycle of poverty.
She has written to provincial Social Development Minister Cathy Rogers. Cohen says helping young people to get their lives back on track builds citizenship.
