Rothesay Wastewater System Upgrade One Step Closer To Becoming A Reality

The $7.5 million wastewater collection system upgrade in the Town of Rothesay is one step closer to becoming a reality.

The Town of Rothesay awarding Dillon Consulting with the job of designing and managing construction services for the wastewater upgrade.

In July, it was announced that the project was approved under the Building Canada Fund with one third of the funding coming from the federal government, one third from the provincial government, and one third from the Rothesay utility fund.

Right now, the wastewater in Rothesay currently discharges to two lagoons.

One near Kennebecasis Park and the other at Henderson’s Cove.

The new upgrade will replace old piping and build new infrastructure to allow all wastewater to be directed to the lagoon in Fairvale.

Rothesay Town Council accepting the proposal from Dillion Consulting at a cost of just under $723,000.
