Eight Awards Given Out For Heritage Conservation Projects

The Heritage Development Board giving out eight awards recognizing heritage projects taken on and completed by people in the city at the latest meeting of Common Council.

  • Award for Residential Façade Preservation at 6 Queen Square South

-Owners John Paul & Carolyn Westin

-William Leaman of Ting Painting Ltd.

  • Award for Residential Façade Preservation at 34 Orange Street

-Owner Christine Gilliland

-Contractor Kevin McQuire

  • Award for Residential Façade Preservation at 262 Prince William Street

-Owner Patricia Scullion

-Painter Wayne Tracey

-Carpentry work Robert Duplessis

  • Award for Residential Façade Restoration at 191 Princess Street

-Owner Jim Bezanson

-Carpenter Fred Chaisson

  • Award for Slate Roof Restoration at 114-116 Wentworth Street

-Owner Jim Bezanson

-Contractor David Chaisson with son Kyle

  • Award for Cedar Wood Restoration at 1260 Manawagonish Road

-Owner Peter Smit

-Carpenters Kurtis Fanjoy and Al Fanjoy

  • Award for Heritage Leadership

Boyce says through the Heritage Grant Program $103,000 was given out this year on behalf of council to commercial and residential heritage projects which he says helped stimulate over $250,000 of private investment.
