The 2018 Remembrance Day ceremony in Saint John will have components honouring the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
Bernard Cormier is the master of ceremonies for the event and tells us the ceremony this year will feature George Kelly as reviewing officer who served as an air mechanic in Yorkshire, England with the air force during World War II.
” He is 100 years old, born I believe in the Spring of 1918, so he was born before the Armistice was signed, stated Cormier”.
Kelly will be joined by another Saint John woman who is also 100 years old and lost two brothers in the Second World War.
Cormier thinks it will be very special to have two people with a connection to both World Wars to lay the wreaths in honour of fallen comrades.
