World Under 17 Hockey Challenge Comes To An End

Russia has won the gold medal at the World Under 17 Men’s Hockey Challenge played in Quispamsis and Saint John.

Russia edged Finland 2-1 to capture the Gold medal, Finland gets the Silver medal.

The Bronze medal went to Sweden after they beat Team Canada Red 4-3 in a shootout.

Following the gold medal game the All-Star team was announced:

• Goaltender: Yaroslav Askarov (Russia)

• Defence: Yan Kuznetsov (Russia)

• Defence: Ryan O’Rourke (Team Canada Black)

• Forward: Connor McClennon (Team Canada White)

• Forward: Vasili Ponomaryov (Russia)

• Forward: Lucas Raymond (Sweden)
