Saint John Coast Guard Getting New Hangar And More

The Saint John Coast Guard centre is getting a new integrated Services building and a new hangar as well.

Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long made the announcement on Thursday that the federal government is investing a total of just under $9 million in the facilities.

The integrated services centre will give allow for more room for offices, workshops, storage and maintenance areas.

The new Hangar will have office space, workshop area and a large landing apron for one of the new 15 Bell 429 light-lift choppers under the Coast Guard renewal plan.

The money will go towards 15-year leases for these two properties.
