In the NHL:

Elsewhere, Ottawa downed Pittsburgh 6-4, Calgary doubled up Edmonton 4-2, Boston edged Arizona 2-1, the Rangers beat Florida 4-2, and New Jersey fell to Detroit 3-2 in overtime.

In the NBA:

Fred VanVleet scored a game-high 18 points as Toronto downed Chicago 122-83.

The Raptors lead the league standings with a 13-4 record, one game ahead of Milwaukee and Golden State.

In ACAA basketball action:

The UNB Saint John women beat Crandall University 76-63.

Megan Baisley had a game-high 19 points for the Seawolves.

Meanwhile, the UNB Saint John men lost to Crandall 88-74.
