Thursday Morning Sports For March 5th

In the NHL, the Anaheim Ducks now have the most points in the league after defeating Montreal 3-1 for their fourth win in a row……Jimmy Howard made 39 saves as Detroit got by the Rangers in overtime 2-1. Marek Zidlicky, just acquired from New Jersey, got the winner for the Red Wings…….Colorado downed Pittsburgh 3-1 and Ottawa won over Winnipeg 3-1.

In the NBA, LeBron James scored 15 points in the 4th quarter as Cleveland beats the Raptors 120-112. James scored or assisted on more than half of Cleveland’s points.

At the Brier, Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs is now 9 and 0 assuring themselves a spot in the playoff between the top two seeds……New Brunswick is 2 and 6 after losing to Jacobs 7-4 but winning over Ontario 9-4.

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have agreed on a new contract for the 2015 season in which the five time M-V-P will take a $4 million pay cut to provide more cash for the team to do business on the free agent market.
