The Organizer of a barn raising event in Waterford, near Sussex has been forced to call off the event.
On March 4th, a barn on the Ediebob Farm collapsed, killing over 20 cows.
Initially, they thought the damage was contained to the barn that collapsed, but two other barns also have structural damage and they will also have to be torn down.
Jodi McGibbon says the number of people who came forward and offered to help was overwhelming.
She says it’s really unfortunate they weren’t able to channel the amazing community spirit into doing a barn raising, but there are safety and liability concerns.
The cost of the damage was first estimated at a quarter million dollars but McGibbon says that amount continues to grow.
