Woman In Wheelchair Robbed

A woman who was confined to a wheelchair was mugged while making her way off of Newport Crescent in the north end. City Police Sergeant Jay Henderson says two teens walked past the woman and then waited for her before grabbing the purse. Her purse was later found behind Barry Court off Churchill Boulevard.

One suspect is described as being 15 or 16 years old with a medium build and slender face, five feet five inches tall, wearing a dark blue or black ball cap and dark hoodie. The second teen has a darker complexion, about five feet five with a medium build, wearing a dark hoodie and white sneakers.

Police also investigating the theft of more copper. This time from a home off Milford Road. The owners have been away for a couple of months.

City Police were also out and about with unmarked cars last weekend to catch people who were talking or texting on their cellphones. One person was so distracted, the driver drove over a curb. Police say these undercover stings will continue.
