City Police officer Chris Messer says not only was he was railroaded by the worst investigation he could imagine but then was thrown under the bus in the criminal prosecution that saw him jailed on false complaints.
Messer spent almost five years clearing his name and getting reinstated after being charged on the basis of false accusations from two convicted criminals. If that wasn’t bad enough, Messer says an attempt was made to murder his family in a drive by shooting with bullets flying through the walls of his home.
No one has been formally charged with the drive by shooting and his home was also broken into.
Messer says he was jailed for something that doesn’t even exist in criminal law and, if he had to fight the false accusations while suspended without pay, would have lost everything.
As it turned out, being falsely accused cost the Messer family more than 100 thousand dollars.
