n the “Q”, Alex Bishop made 32 stops for his first shutout as the Sea Dogs shut out Halifax 2-0. Mathieu Joseph and Joe Veleno scored for Saint John.

In the NHL, the Toronto Maple Leafs won for the first time in nearly two weeks, 3-1 over Carolina. The Leafs will be without forwards James van Riemsdyk and Joffrey Lupul for the rest of the season…..Chicago lost to Nashville 3-1 but picked up forward Andrew Ladd in a trade with Winnipeg……..The Rangers got by St. Louis 2-1….Los Angeles edged Edmonton 2-1….Vancouver downed Ottawa 5-3 with three third period goals….It was Winnipeg over Dallas 6-3…..The Islanders downed Calgary in overtime 2-1….Florida defeated Arizona 3-2….Philadelphia got by Minnesota 3-2 and Columbus beat New Jersey 6-1.

The Saint John Mill Rats rallied in the final two minutes to beat the Moncton Miracles 116-115. Doug Herring Junior went 6 for 6 from the foul line in the last two minutes. Gabe Freeman led the Mill Rats in scoring with 34 points.

In the NBA, it was Golden State 130 Orlando 114…..Boston 112 Milwaukee 107….New Orleans 123 Oklahoma City 119…..Brooklyn 116 Phoenix 106….Houston 119 Portland 105 and San Antonio 96 Utah 78.

Alberta leads the Scotties Tournament of Hearts with a record of 9 and 2 followed by the Jennifer Jones rink, representing Canada, at 8 and 2. The Sylvie Robichaud rink of Curl Moncton, representing New Brunswick, is 2 and 8 after winning over Quebec 6-5 and losing to B-C 7-5.
