The Atlantic Institution in Renous is ins lockdown status because of a search for contraband and unauthorized items.
The search of the institution is ongoing and normal institution operations including visits are suspended until the conclusion of the search.
The lockdown will remain in effect until the search is completed.
The maximum-security institution in Renous currently houses 195 inmates.
