Local Nurses Head To Guatemala For A Medical Mission

A group of local nurses are heading to Guatemala for their second medical mission in October.

The group went to Guatemala last year, where they were able to treat over 2500 women and children.

Jolene Wade is the team leader. She says there are a few different ways you can help out.

Wade says they’re doing a bottle drive and will also be hosting an 80’s dance party on April 30th at the KV Billiards, which will include prizes and a silent auction.

She says on their first trip, the group travelled to old school houses and churches where they were able to treat people with things we take for granted like Tylenol, eye drops and water.

She says it helps the nurses too because you think critically and in a different mind set, and they can bring that experience back with them.
