A fire forcing a traffic shutdown on Rothesay Avenue on a busy Saturday afternoon while Saint John firefighters battled a blaze at a business near the Tim Horton’s.
Platoon Chief Eric Garland tells CHSJ News crews arriving at Personal Auto and Tire found heavy fire in the roof.
He says crews were able to push out two cars in the garage adding no was there as the business was closed at the time of the fire.
Fire investigators are already looking into the cause of the fire.
Garland says it was essential to shut down traffic on Rothesay Avenue because the hydrants they needed to access were on the other side of the road meaning the hoses had to be stretched across the road.
