The General Manager of McAllister Place David Greene spoke against the proposed development on Ashburn Road and Highway 1 during the Planned Advisory Committee.
Greene says he understands and supports competition, but would rather it be across the street instead of a few kms down the road.
He says in his opinion, the main reason why the developer wants to build there is because it’s cheap land, and he says cheap land comes at a cost.
Green also mentioned future plans for McAllister Place, which includes dividing the old Target space in two, and he says they also have plans for when Sobeys leaves the mall.
He says announcements are expected in the near future.
