In the NFL, Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a 12 yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown with 9:01 left to lift the Steelers to a 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Steelers rallied with 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to take sole possession of second in the A-F-C North heading into the bye.
“The Panda”, free agent Pablo Sandoval arrived in Boston for a meeting with the Red Sox who are said to be “all-in” on luring the third baseman away from San Francisco. The Red Sox see Sandoval as being the eventual replacement for David Ortiz as the team’s designated hitter.
It’s being widely reported the Blue Jays have signed 31 year old catcher Russell Martin to a five year deal. Martin. a native of Toronto, grew up in Quebec and has played with the Dodgers, Yankees and Pirates.
