Saint Johnners To Pay More For Their Water

Your bill for water and sewage in the city will be increasing next year if Common Council approves the 2015 budget for Saint John Water.

The proposed flat rate will go up by 72 dollars to one thousand 152 dollars. That increase, when broken down, amounts to an additional 6 dollars a month.

Saint John Water’s budget increases next year by 7.7 per cent up to 42.3 million dollars.

Council also getting a warning the overall debt will continue to rise over the next four years because of the cost of safe drinking water.

Saint John Water also reports so far this year, there have been 90 watermain breaks.
