New Study Finds Bilingualism Good For Business In NB

A study released yesterday for the Office of the Commmissioner of Official Languages for New Brunswick found that two languages are good for business in our province.

It stated that bilingualism generates more jobs and revenue for New Brunswick, which benefits both the English and the French.

The report co-authored by Economist Pierre Marcel Desjardins and Economic Development Specialist David Campbell stated that firms attracted to this province by the bilingual workforce have created two unilingual jobs for every bilingual job, and it also allows the province to attract post secondary students from other provinces and countries to study here in either language.

The study also proposed ways in which the province could use it bilingual workforce for future economic growth.
