No Boat Service If Flooding Isolates Darling’s Island

A warning for the people who live on Darling’s Island if there is flooding.

The provincial government telling them there will be no shuttle boat service provided and they should be prepared to wait it out if the road is closed.

The Minister of Local Government, Brian Kenny has released a statement claiming a boat shuttle should only be done in emergencies when lives are under threat because there are major risks for both first responders and people being shuttled, especially children.

Hampton M-L-A Gary Crossman is disappointed at the decision not to provide a shuttle boat service, saying he has been speaking with the fire chief and the chair of the Local Service District to see if something else can be put in place to avoid people being stranded.
