Fire Displaces 7 At East Side Half-Way House

7 people living in a half-way house in East Saint John are displaced after a fire last night.

City fire crews got the call just after 6pm to respond because of smoke in the kitchen at a home on the Josselyn Road.

Firefighters tracked the origin of the fire to the basement and quickly knocked it down.

Crews remained on scene until 930 while the fire investigator completed their work.

The cause of the blaze is unknown.
