Stairway To City Market Closing Temporarily On Monday

The stairway going up to the Saint John City Market from the second floor of Brunswick Square is going to be closed temporarily starting on Monday as upgrade work continues on the pedway.

The closure is so that overhead work can be done in the area and it will be closed until Wednesday tenatively opening up again on Thursday.

The full closure of the pedway is expected to happen from May until the scheduled completion of the project at the end of June.

The upgrade work includes replacing the existing lift with a full-service passenger elevator and installing a new up-only escalator.

The city market will remain open for regular business hours for the entirety of the construction period.
