Great Loss To The Community With Death Of Dr Daniel de Yterralde

A great loss to the medical community, with the death of Dr. Daniel de Yturralde.

He was an orthopedic surgeon, and retired chief of surgery for the Dumont Hospital, who improved the lives of thousands of patients over 4 decades as a doctor.

De Yturralde passed away Thursday following a battle with cancer since his diagnosis in 2014.

Rene Collette, chairman of the CHU Dumont Foundation says de Yturralde had a brilliant career in sports medicine and orthopedica surgery.

Collette adds the doctor will be remembered as a pioneer, and one of the driving forces behind important projects in our health sector including the formation of the Dr. Leon-Richard Oncology Centre.

Foundation President and CEO Jacques LeBlanc says de Yturralde was deeply involved in the community, playing a key role in the CHU Dumont Foundation, and was a supporter of the Tree of Hope Campaign from the very beginning.

LeBlanc added de Yturralde’s legacy of generosity, vision and spirit will never be forgotten.
