Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith was ejected for swinging his stick and catching Minnesota Wild center and former Sea Dog Charlie Coyle in the face. Keith has been suspended indefinitely. Coyle was left with blood dripping down the bridge of his nose.
At the World Women’s Hockey Championship, Canada rebounded from the loss to the U.S. with an 8-1 win over Russia.
At the Canadian Senior Curling Championships…..In women’s play, Heidi Hanlon of Thistle St Andrews, representing New Brunswick, is 2 and 2 after a 9-0 win over the Yukon and an 8-2 loss to Alberta. In men’s play, New Brunswick, represented by the Grant Odishaw rink from Riverside, is 1 and 3 after losing 8-2 to Newfoundland and Labrador and 6-3 to B-C.
